<h2 class="heading-node">About Sonic &amp; the Mobius Hackathon&nbsp;&nbsp;</h2>
Sonic is the first SVM network extension to launch on Solana for games and applications. Built with Sonic HyperGrid, a framework for orchestrating optimistic Solana rollups, Sonic aims to power the web3 TikTok App Layer to onboard the next one billion users.

Sonic is organising the Mobius Hackathon, the first SVM hackathon on Solana, designed to accelerate SVM innovation by bringing together developers, founders, and creators to build scalable, real-time applications on Sonic. With dedicated tracks spanning Attention Capital Markets, DeFi, AI and Gaming, participants have the opportunity to develop cutting-edge decentralized applications while leveraging Sonic&rsquo;s high-performance infrastructure.&nbsp;

<h2 class="heading-node">Track Description</h2>
The Gaming track challenges developers to build engaging, high-retention games that leverage the power of onchain economies. Whether it&rsquo;s mini-games, social games, fully onchain games (FOCG), or high-ARPU (average revenue per user) games, this track is designed for those pushing the boundaries of Web3 gaming.
Projects in this track should focus on:

Simple but engaging mechanics &ndash; games that are easy to pick up and play.

Retention and virality &ndash; social challenges, leaderboards, and friend-based competition.
</li>
<li>
Progression and replayability &ndash; evolving mechanics, unlockable content, and dynamic experiences.
</li>
<li>
Scalability and economy design &ndash; sustainable onchain game economies powered by Sonic.
</li>
</ul>
Participants are encouraged to experiment with new gameplay mechanics, unique monetization models, and innovative player interactions to create games that keep players coming back.

And a Grand Champion Prize of $400,000 for the best overall projects across all tracks.
All prizes will be distributed as follows:

Open to individuals and teams worldwide.

Submissions must be built on or integrated on Sonic.
</li>
<li>
Projects must be original.
</li>

<h3 class="heading-node">Submission Requirements</h3>

A working prototype link or MVP.
</li>
<li>
A demo video (max 5 minutes) showcasing functionality.
</li>
<li>
Open source projects are encouraged but not mandatory. If your GitHub repo is private, then you need to share access with <a class="link" href="mailto:hackathon@sonic.game">hackathon@sonic.game</a> for your submission to be valid.

You can submit even if you did not register for this hackathon.&nbsp;

However, the Sonic team highly recommends all participants to register before submitting their projects, as the team will verify the submissions against the registered Twitter/X account.

Deploying on mainnet isn&rsquo;t required. However, projects that are deployed on the Sonic mainnet will be prioritised.

<h3 class="heading-node">Judging Criteria</h3>

Functionality: What is the quality of code? How well does the product work?
</li>
<li>
Potential Impact: How big is the total addressable market for this project? What will be the impact of this project on Sonic and also the broader Solana ecosystem?
</li>
<li>
Novelty: How unique is this project's idea? What&rsquo;s the differentiation of this project compared to similar ones?
</li>
<li>
User Experience: How well does this project utilize Sonic's performance to create a great experience for end users?
</li>
<li>
Business Plan: Is there a solid business to be built on top of this project? How convincing is the business/monetization model of the project?
</li>
<li>
Volume: The mainnet traction/volume of the project will be one of the key considerations when deciding the Grand Champions.
</li>
