We are hiring a skilled and experienced Backend Engineer to join our dynamic founding team. In this critical role, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining robust and scalable backend systems that deliver exceptional user experiences. Your expertise in backend technologies will play a pivotal role in shaping the architecture and functionality of our applications, ensuring they meet the highest standards of performance, reliability, and scalability.

Required Skills

• Founder mindset: Worked on side projects, can make fast decisions, wants to wear multiple hats, and deeply cares about users.

• Backend Technologies: 3+ years of experience in NestJS, Node.js, and TypeScript.

• Database Management: Proficiency with PostgreSQL, SQL, and experience with any ORM tools.

• Version Control: Strong knowledge of Git and GitHub for repository management and collaboration.

• Testing Frameworks: Experience with unit testing frameworks such as Vitest, Mocha, Jest, or similar.

• Experience working with blockchains (EVM/Solana) is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend APIs using NestJS and TypeScript.

• Manage and optimize database structures and queries to ensure high performance and efficiency in PostgreSQL.

• Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to define requirements, design solutions, and deliver new features.

• Monitor and ensure the performance, scalability, and reliability of backend applications.

• Proactively identify and resolve bottlenecks, bugs, and other technical issues.

• Uphold best practices in code quality, structure, and maintainability, with a focus on automation and process improvement.

• Develop scripts and tools to streamline operational workflows and enhance productivity.

Tech Stack

The project will involve developing a fully functional website with interactive features, database management, and seamless integration of third-party APIs. The tech stack will include but not be limited to:

• Back-end: NestJS, Node.js, and TypeScript.

• Database: MongoDB, MySQL

• Additional tools: Git, RESTful APIs

Evaluation Criteria

Applicants will be evaluated based on the following criteria:

• Previous experience in building products (founded or hackathons)

• Ability to work with different databases and integrate various APIs seamlessly

• Understanding of blockchain transactions

• Understanding of UI/UX principles and best practices in web development

• Debugging skills (cz AI would be able to do most of the code)

• It’s okay if you’re still in college, your work speaks for itself.

Estimated Time to Complete

The project is expected to be completed within

• First 3 months: $1500/mo

• An option for a full-time opportunity: $2000/mo

Note: The selected candidate will be required to participate in regular progress meetings and provide timely updates on the project's status.

Payment Logistics: 

• 25% upon the start of the project 

• 50% on completion of half of the agreed scope

• 25% once the project has been completed
