<h1>About the Listing &amp; Scope</h1>The Solana Foundation has recently moved a bunch of Solana lessons from <a target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow" href="http://soldev.app/course">soldev.app/course</a> to <a target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow" href="http://solana.com/developers/courses">solana.com/developers/courses</a>.We need these lessons (and a few more - see the list below!) updated for newer software and Solana Foundation’s writing standards.<h2>Your mission:</h2><ol><li>Pick one or more of the lessons in the list ("The Lesson List") below.</li><li>Read and follow the course <a target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow" href="https://github.com/solana-foundation/developer-content/blob/main/CONTRIBUTING.md">contributing guide</a>. These cover the English writing style you should use, the programming conventions for both TypeScript and Rust, how to make diagrams, and much more. Your task is to update the lesson(s) you’re working on to use current software and meet the contributing guide.</li><li>Update the lesson!</li></ol><h2>Why?</h2>Solana Foundation want to make sure our courses:<ul><li>Work out of the box, with no changes necessary, so people can focus on learning and building.</li><li>Have the simplest, most readable code.</li><li>Use the current versions of web3.js, Anchor, the Solana CLI, Metaplex MPL token metadata, and other dependencies.</li></ul>Since these lessons were created, there have been several changes in the developer ecosystem, including:<ul><li>Anchor has new features (like INIT_SPACE) and a standard way to layout larger projects (the multiple files template)</li><li>New versions of JavaScript and TypeScript mean we can focus on building our app, and avoid things like async function wrappers, .then() chaining, and various other pre-ES2017 techniques.</li><li>We have new tools like @solana-developer/helpers and @solana-developers/create-solana-dapp, allowing students to avoid many tasks that previously required extra code or steps.</li><li>@metaplex-foundation/js has been replaced by @metaplex-foundation/mpl-token-metadata</li><li>We have new <a target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow" href="https://github.com/solana-foundation/developer-content/blob/main/CONTRIBUTING.md">contributing guidelines</a> that help Solana Foundation content look more consistent</li><li>External software like React has had updates too.</li></ul>We want our lessons, including example code and solutions to reflect these changes!<h1>Rewards</h1>400 USDC per lesson if accepted<h1>Judging Criteria</h1><ul><li>Does the updated lesson work with the latest stable Solana, Anchor, Mobile Wallet Adapter, and other dependencies?</li><li>Have you followed the <a target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow" href="https://github.com/solana-foundation/developer-content/blob/main/CONTRIBUTING.md">contributing guidelines</a>? Superteam Balkan now supports University grants. These grants are designed for students and professors who are actively engaged in promoting decentralization and censorship resistance by leveraging the Solana blockchain and its ecosystem, whether through academic research, educational initiatives, or the development of innovative blockchain solutions.

The primary focus of the Superteam Balkan University Program is to support students and faculty staff in learning about Solana, conducting research, organizing educational events, and developing real-world blockchain-based solutions. A key emphasis is placed on the creation of professional, research, and thesis papers by students, as well as doctoral and scientific papers by professors and lecturers, fostering academic analysis and contributions to blockchain technology. The program also provides financial support and networking opportunities, enabling both students and the academic community to turn their ideas into tangible projects with real-world applications.

We also encourage students to explore the entrepreneurial side of blockchain technology and support initiatives for kickstarting startups in this field.</li>

<li>Update the community once a week on your progress.</li>
<li>As you achieve your self-described milestones, receive the rest of your funding.</li>
<li>Submit finished work for feedback, review, and distribution.</li>

<li>&nbsp;Open Source: Being clear and concise is always helpful. What makes decentralized applications so powerful is that they are built on the premise of being open and composable. However, we understand that some projects develop intellectual property that cannot yet be publicly available. In such cases, open-sourcing is not a strict requirement, but we expect a clear strategy for future accessibility and ecosystem integration.</li>
