Track Overview:

Short fiction writing (minimum 100 words)! Choose one of the provided top writing prompts and create a story based on that scenario. Your short story must incorporate lore from The Solverse, the “Established Universe”, in some way. You may submit as many times as you like.

The "Established Universe":

The Solverse is a collection of interconnected worlds built by many, forming a shape resembling an infinity symbol. This universe is renowned for its vibrant and ever-changing nature, and has been divided into 8 distinct timelines by an unknown force. Others seek to reunite and merge these timelines, but for what purpose?

• EXAMPLE PROMPT: 'After inventing time travel, you send agents back in time to change the future and conquer the world. Instead you get back several dead agents and a note saying “Never try that again.”'

Deliverable: A publicly shared Google Docs link that contains your short story. You may submit as many times as you like.

Judging Criteria for Short Fiction Story:

1. Incorporation of Established Universe: The story should effectively incorporate elements from the Solverse. This includes referencing the interconnected worlds, known factions, realms, categories, scenes, and using the community wiki as inspiration. This part is the most important.

2. Creativity: The story ideas, concepts, and Solverse references should be unique and original.

3. Writing Style & Presentation: The quality of writing should include proper grammar, punctuation, and the use of descriptive language to engage the reader. The plot should be coherent and logical.

4. Engagement: The story should captivate and engage the reader, keeping them interested and invested in the narrative.

Submission Requirements:

1. Your submission will be rejected if it is not in English, if it contains less than 100 words, does not incorporate the established universe, does not include the original writing prompt, or is a joke response.

2. If you use any references from the wiki, please include links to them in your submission (extra points for including more references!).

3. Make sure to include the writing prompt you used for your story in your submission document.

4. The link to your submission should be publicly viewable on and after the submission deadline. Private links will not be accepted.

5. Once the submissions have been made, no changes can be made to the submission form.
