Renaissance is the latest edition of Solana’s online global hackathon. Winners may be invited to a Y-Combinator style accelerator program, with up to 250,000 USD worth of investments available. Our past Malaysian winners got cold-calls from venture capitals and connections from the global industry leaders to support their startup idea and product. 

Virtual Protocol is building the future of the Metaverse powered by both AI and Web3. AI will be used to generate agents in the virtual universe, while Web3 is used to power the interactions and economics of the participants, human or AI. We would love to see how you combine the best of both worlds in a novel and fun way that leverages our platform.

Challenge

We invite you to develop a generative AI solution that offers a compelling new experience or solves an existing problem in the fields of Gaming, Social, or Digital Entertainment. Your submission should leverage Generative AI to either enhance user experience, streamline content creation, foster social interaction, or offer an innovative entertainment experience. In order to spark your creativity, we’ve proposed several potential directions you could explore, but it’s ultimately up to you and your interests!

Possible Directions

• AI Assistant/Companion: Create AI companions that either have practical utility or simply serve to provide you with entertainment/companionship.

• AI Livestreamers: Create AI-powered livestreamers that have the ability to react to comments, sing, dance and more.

• AI RPG Game (e.g., Dungeons and Dragons): Develop an AI-powered RPG game where AI shapes the narrative, adapts the challenge based on player actions, or even acts as an NPC.

• AI Game Coach: Invent an AI coach that offers personalized training, strategy optimization, and performance analysis for gamers, elevating their skills in real-time.

• Revolutionising game production with Video LLMs: Develop a set of game mechanics that allow for simple interactions (e.g., aiming and shooting) using mouse inputs or screen taps, while utilizing a Video LLM to generate video content in real-time, reflecting the outcomes of player actions.

• Open: Let your imagination run wild, unleash your creativity and surprise us!

Judging Criteria

1. Innovation (20%)

2. Does the solution present a novel approach to gaming, social, or digital entertainment?

3. Does the submission demonstrate creative problem-solving and out-of-the-box thinking?

4. How much of a role does AI play in the solution?

5. Impact (20%)

6. What is the business case for the solution and the market opportunity?

7. What is the potential for the solution to attract a user base and its scalability in the current market?

8. Technical & AI Excellence (45%)

9. Is the solution technically challenging? Does it make good use of generative AI capabilities?

10. Were there any creative methods used to enhance model quality (e.g. using unique/synthetic datasets, finetuning, etc.)

11. Demo (15%)

12. How clearly is the project and its functionality communicated in the submission materials?

13. How effectively does the prototype/demo showcase the AI application’s capabilities?

Eligibility 

1. You must register for the hackathon on the Colosseum platform and mark Malaysia as your country of residence 

2. You must submit to the Renaissance hackathon and mark Malaysia as your country

Note: Your project must be submitted to the Colosseum portal as well as on Superteam Earn. 

Submission requirements:

• pitch deck (Must have! Just need to add one slide at least on how to incorporate blockchain elements e.g. “pay with crypto”, “earn NFT badges” etc, happy assist on how to craft a blockchain-related use case)

• elevator pitch video of explanation of pitch deck (Must have! Just need to do a 3 min (maximum) screen recording of you pitching your deck! Easy peasy. But if you really can't do it for whatever reason, you can also use AI to generate it)

• link to socials for your projects (preferably twitter) 

• link to code base 

Note:

The most important submission is the pitch deck and video recording of your pitch, treat it as a business case challenge. Submitting code will greatly boost your chances of winning, but the business case is the priority.
