About the Prize & Scope

Breakout is the latest edition of Solana’s online global hackathon! Previous editions of Solana’s hackathons have been the birthplace of legendary projects such as StepN, Underdog, Tensor, and Dialect, among others.

This sidetrack is run by Gowling WLG & Superteam Canada. Teams competing for the global hackathon who registered with Canada 🇨🇦 as their primary location may apply. See “Submission Requirements” below for details on eligibility.

🤝 Gowling will join us at Solana Startup Village - Toronto with a workshop for Founders navigating Canada’s complex startup environment.

🏆 A Partner from Gowling will join the judging panel for Canada Demo Day to provide live feedback to Canada’s top teams.

This listing is a side track, meaning it is exclusive of the $600,000+ up for grabs as part of the global hackathon. This means as a team based in Canada, your chances of winning a prize are much higher; even if you don't win at the global level, you still have a shot at winning something on the national level!

Judging Criteria

The judging criteria for the Gowling WLG x Superteam Canada Track will mirror that of the global hackathon. This means the following criteria will be considered: product functionality, potential impact, novelty, UX, whether or not open-sourced, and business plan. Submission Requirements

1. You must register for the hackathon on the Colosseum Platform and mark “CANADA” as your team’s primary country.

2. You must participate in the Canada Demo Day.

3. Your project must be eligible as per the official rules of the global hackathon and your team must abide by the Colosseum Code of Ethics.
