AltSchool Africa offers a more effective “alternative” to traditional academic institutions. We explore and offer practical and functional learning using modern technology. By 2030, we aim to arm ten million Africans with profitable skills that will shape their futures and the growth of the African continent.  We will bring our students into the web3 landscape by partnering with Solana on the Breakout hackathon.

Breakout is the latest edition of Solana’s online global hackathon; this year, it is bigger and better. Winners will qualify for the Colosseum incubator program, which can mean a $250,000 investment in their project. Previous editions of Solana’s hackathons have been the birthplace of legendary projects such as Decharge, Sphere, Underdog, Tensor, and Dialect. This year's theme is "Breakout."

This listing is a side track dedicated to Nigerian projects built under the supervision of Superteam Nigeria during the 5-week hackathon period. To qualify, you must participate in the build stations, hacker hostel, or virtual boot camps, and project review sessions. 

Eligibility 

1. You must register for the hackathon on the Colosseum platform and mark “Nigeria” as your country.  

2. You must submit to the Breakout hackathon and mark "Nigeria" as your country

3. Your project must be eligible as per the official rules of the global hackathon

The Project must be submitted to the Colosseum portal and on Superteam Earn. 

Judging Criteria

The judging criteria for the NG Track will mirror those of the global hackathon. This means the following criteria will be considered: product functionality, potential impact, novelty, UX, whether or not open-sourced, and business plan.
