The Drift Foundation is excited to announce the initiation of the Drift Foundation Grants Program. Grants will be used to fund teams / people who want to contribute to Drift’s growth. The objective of the grants program is to accelerate Drift’s ecosystem growth and strengthen its vibrant community.

Grant areas of focus:

• Community: Events, Content, Sponsorship… etc
• Ecosystem: Integrations, Incentives, Listings… etc
• Protocol: Improvements, Governance, Research.. Etc

Other:

Any proposal that aligns with the objectives of the program.

 

Process:

 

 

Submission: The proposing team/person submits their initial application through the application form.

Application criteria:

Each application should, at minimum, contain the following:

• Summary
• Objective
• The output/deliverable (what will be measured)
• The ask
• Timelines

Decision Council decision criteria: Given the broad scope these are just rough guidelines and each proposal with be reviewed on an individual basis.

• Does the proposal align with objectives(to develop the community + ecosystem)
• Does the council have confidence the team can execute
• Would it be an efficient use of grant funds

Initial review: The analyst team reviews the grant application.

• If the application aligns with the grant program’s objectives, an analyst will connect with the applicant and work with them to iterate and improve their proposal.
• If the proposal doesn’t meet program objectives the proposal is denied.

Decision: The refined proposal is sent to the decision council.

• The decision council discusses and decides whether to approve the grant application.
• For requests under 10K DRIFT: If approved, the grant is funded.
• For requests over 10K DRIFT: If approved, the analyst team will work s with the applicant to create a proposal that the Drift Foundation will support as it goes through futarchy. If it passes futarchy, the proposal is funded.
• If the proposal fails to pass the decision council or futarchy, the Foundation provides feedback on the reasons for the rejection.

Funding and Reporting: If the proposal is funded, the proposing team is responsible for keeping the foundation updated on progress through monthly check-ins with foundation. The foundation may also provide other resources to proposing teams where applicable and deemed appropriate.
